Invisalign is an orthodontic system that uses removable plastic trays called aligners to straighten teeth. Trays are used in a specific sequence to help teeth gently shift into proper alignment over time. Many patients prefer them over traditional braces because they're made of smooth, clear plastic and are virtually invisible while being worn. They also lack the sharp edges and wires of some metal braces, and perhaps most importantly, they can be removed for eating, brushing and flossing, as well as during dental visits and for special occasions. Treatment takes about 18 months for most patients, although some patients can complete treatment in as little as a year.
In-office whitening uses powerful ingredients designed specifically for professional use for long-lasting results that penetrate into the deeper layers of the teeth. Plus, because they're professionally applied, there's less risk of sensitivity with in-office whitening treatments. Whitening treatments are generally applied following a cleaning to ensure the whitening agent can be applied consistently for deepest penetration and optimal results.
Veneers are thin, durable covers that are adhered to the surface of your teeth to hide cracks and discolorations or to help correct the appearance of cosmetic issues, including worn tooth edges, uneven tooth size or shape, or unsightly gaps. They can also help improve the proportions of teeth that appear too small. Veneers are applied by first removing a portion of the tooth surface to ensure the veneers don't extend beyond the edges of the neighboring teeth. A strong adhesive is used to bond them to the tooth surface. When cared for properly with regular brushing, flossing and visits to the dentist, veneers can last 10 years or more.
